On 7-8-9 November we will organize Open Spaces 2.0 – National Meeting and Open Spaces Festival, where on the first day we will continue our Approach Programme launched in the framework of the Stronger Roots project, on the second we will talk about the network and on the third we will organize a diverse Open Spaces Festival open to the public to promote our members. Part of the three-day programme will be exclusively for our members, but there will also be open panels and public festival programmes on the two professional days.
The aim of the event is to facilitate meetings and connections, promote independent Hungarian civic and cultural life, showcase the social role of the network’s member organizations in local community life, establish collaborations and strengthen existing collaborations within and beyond the membership. The APPROACH programme also aims to promote and improve cooperation with local authorities and public institutions.
What are OPEN SPACES?
OPEN SPACES is a national network that brings together and supports independent cultural spaces and civil society organizations that provide a space for dialogue on basic human values in crisis, fundamental European rights, current social issues; an inclusive space and platform for independent cultural programmes and local cultural communities.
Why 2.0?
OPEN SPACES is redefining itself this year with the renewal of its membership, the development of a membership scheme and an updated profile under development. Our strategic goal is to provide a background and opportunities for cooperation for our members, to open the way for common development and to show the diversity of knowledge we have and the valuable people and organizations working together to make the country a better place.
In November, we are also working in partnership with the Verzió International Documentary Film Festival, so Version 2.0 is a symbol of this collaboration. Thanks to this, this year’s Verzió will also feature an OPEN SPACES film selection, which we welcome our members and the public to attend, in addition to the networking programmes.
Programme:
NOVEMBER 7 (Thursday) APPROACH PROGRAMME / In the framework of our Stronger Roots project, which supports the Open Spaces network and its cooperation with local authorities and public institutions, this day will be dedicated to professional meetings and an interactive „expo” on local government.
NOVEMBER 8 (Friday) Open Spaces Networking Day / Membership updates, introductions of new and old members, interactive and recreational networking.
